I’ve decided to break away from wearing black and grey tights this winter. I’m starting to try out graphic tights as well as bold colors. I picked up a few pairs at H&M, the colored tights were only $5.95 I brought blue, green, and a pair of graphic tights that cost $12.95. I’ve been looking around to see how I can wear the tights without looking like I’m in kindergarten; so I paired my black and grey graphic tights with a dark grey sweater dress and a pair of slouchy boots. Since I wanted to keep my next look simple I wore a black skirt with a black v neck t-shirt and both the green or blue tights would go with the outfit and a pair of patent leather heels.
Menswear with a feminine touch is this years falls fashion trend. Menswear is flattering on women and can be mixed with feminine pieces for a balanced look. If you are interested in incorporating menswear into your style you should try out different types of menswear options to see which piece is right for you. Incorporate one piece of menswear at a time to avoid a cluttered outfit. When worn correctly, menswear on women is at once both structured and glamorous. For example a mans watch is an ultra chic piece such as this inexpensive one from the15dollarstore for $15.00. Another look is a fitted blazer such as the one from the Lauren Conrad line from Kohls which retails for $41.99. The earrings are Forever21. Throw on a pair of skinny jeans and riding boots and your set to go.
I really love Reese Witherspoons swag it’s stylish and effortlessly chic. I was reading an Instyle magazine and noticed another chic outfit by Reese. It’s super basic and most of us have all of these items in our closet. All you need is short/long sleeve sweater, jeans, a dress shirt, riding boots, a pair of flats, or black pumps.
Now that the weather is actually fall weather I thought it would be nice to post about cold weather jackets. Old Navy has a great selection of peacoats and all sorts of wool jackets. Here are a few cold weather jackets from OldNavy for tall and petite women…and anyone in between they retail for $59.50. The jackets come in all sorts of colors from black (shown below) to orange, and green.
Thanksgiving is around the corner which means lots of food and socializing. This also raises the question of what to wear this year. The dresses below are both from modcloth.com the first dress is called the ballet matinee dress for $47.99 which is a great look for thanksgiving. This dress has a black lace overlay with ruffles of lace at the sleeves. The next dress is called the veil of midnight dress which also retails for $47.99 this dress is for a an upscale thanksgiving dinner event or if you just want to make a fashion statement. This dress has a black netting overlay rests like mist atop a silky, lacy liner.
Normally I don’t write about perfume on here but I just tried out a new scent (to me anyway) and Love, Love, Love it! Did I mention I Love it! I really love the Dolce & Gabbana perfume called rose the one. The perfume came out in 2009 but I didn’t smell it until now. It has a blend of madonna lily, pink grapefruit, blackcurrant, lily of the valley, sandalwood, litchi, peony, ambrette seed, musk, vanilla, mandarin and rose. I’m very sensitive and picky about perfume scents due to a sensitive nose, but when I can find a nice soft floral scent I’m all over it. A 1.6 fl. oz is $72.00 at Dillards but I found the perfume cheaper at Wallgreens.com for $51.68 and overstock.com has it for $52.99. I hope you get a chance to try out the scent. It’s perfect for day or night.
This years fall trend is military. So I don’t necessary like the trend with the jackets but I do like to incorporate some of the military colors into my wardrobe. I found a really pretty army green blouse from Kohl’s recently from the LC (Lauren Conrad) line. As many of you know I really am in love with her collection and its very affordable. The army green satin pintuck tunic has lace trim around the neckline which give it an added flare; and is the reason I chose this blouse. It also has cuffed 3/4 length sleeves that have a button. The blouse comes in army green and beige and is on sale for $27.99.
I love the Gap and I also love my new tipped tuxedo jacket in tall which retails for $98.00. I know it seems a bit pricey but you should invest in a few high in pieces that will go with your entire wardrobe and last you a long time. Can’t wait to wear this with my dark skinny jeans and my riding boots!
A site that I have come across that provides a unique outlet for shoppers is called SkimmyDip.com. This site is an innovative search engine that enables users with a greater selection over categories, brands, price ranges, and endless apparel. The best part about Skimmy Dip is the feature which breaks down shopping efficiently. The shopping environment is structured around the way a shopper thinks. It totally makes the process of buying clothes online an easy process. Who wouldn’t want to make online clothes shopping an easier experience. Check out how it works below.
Back to school is right around the corner and so is the fall season. Soon it will be time to pack away all of your lovely tank tops and summer dresses and take out your soft sweaters and scarfs. I have a few back to school fashion ideas for the 2010 school year. Here are a few lovely sweaters form old navy that I love. The bonus with old navy is that they carry clothing for tall peeps like myself. The tie belt wrap around sweater retail for $36.50 and would look great paired with a pair of dark skinny denim jeans or jeggings and these riding boots I found at Target on sale for $39.99. The riding boots also come in black.
