Now that the weather is actually fall weather I thought it would be nice to post about cold weather jackets. Old Navy has a great selection of peacoats and all sorts of wool jackets. Thanksgiving is around the corner which means lots of food and socializing. This also raises the question of what to wear this year. By far October was the busiest month of my life so far. I want to apologize to all of my subscribers and readers for the lack of posts. As some of you may know I’m in a graduate program and over the last 6 months was in the process of writing a thesis. Which is now complete and submitted…thank goodness.  Writing a thesis is the most labor intensive, emotional roller coaster time in your life…yet it is the most gratifying experience because you get to research a topic you are absolutely head over heels about. My journey of graduate school will be coming to an end next month and I wouldn’t change any of it…. Enough about me…I just wanted to give you all an update for my absence. Next week back to writing about trends, clothes, and makeup…

Normally I don’t write about perfume on here but I just tried out a new scent (to me anyway) and Love, Love, Love it! Did I mention I Love it! I really love the Dolce & Gabbana perfume called rose the one. The perfume came out in 2009 but I didn’t smell it until now. It has a blend of madonna lily, pink grapefruit, blackcurrant, lily of the valley, sandalwood, litchi, peony, ambrette seed, musk, vanilla, mandarin and rose. I’m very sensitive and picky about perfume scents due to a sensitive nose, but when I can find a nice soft floral scent I’m all over it.  A 1.6 fl. oz is $72.00 at Dillards but I found the perfume cheaper at Wallgreens.com for $51.68 and overstock.com has it for $52.99. I hope you get a chance to try out the scent. It’s perfect for day or night.

Fairy Halloween costumes are always a hit no matter which Halloween party or club you attend. This year I’ve seen a lot of fairy costumes that light up online which is a new added bonus for a fairy Halloween costume. This years fall trend is military. So I don’t necessary like the trend with the jackets but I do like to incorporate some of the military colors into my wardrobe. I found a really pretty army green blouse from Kohl’s recently from the LC (Lauren Conrad) line. As many of you know I really am in love with her collection and its very affordable. The army green satin pintuck tunic has lace trim around the neckline which give it an added flare; and is the reason I chose this blouse. It also has cuffed 3/4 length sleeves that have a button. The blouse comes in army green and beige and is on sale for $27.99.

This Halloween 2010 another breakout costume will be the Neytiri Halloween costume from Avatar. The movie touched  so many people this year that it is no doubt adults and kids will be wearing this costume this year. I wonder if I will see women with this costume painted on in LA LA Land this year. I’ve never understood why body paint is a growing trend for Halloween in LA and Las Vegas. It just seems way to cold on Halloween to be in just body paint…but to each their own. On the other note this costume will have you covered in a vibrant blue bodysuit with attached tail,  gray apron, arm gauntlet and 2 sets of multicolored beads for the wrist and apron. Also, the look would not be complete without the Neytiri wig which retails for $22.99.This costume retails for $36.99 which is not bad considering the average cost of Halloween costumes this year are between $50-75.

Halloween is right around the corner and I already have taken a trip to the Halloween stores in my neighborhood. This year I’ve decided to be a nurse and my husband will be a doctor. I saw a picture of Christina Aguilera and her husband as a nurse and doctor a few years back and wanted to re-create the look. I purchased my naughty nurse Halloween costume through Yandy.com.  Every year thousands and thousands of women wear fishnets so I wanted to give them a rest this year so my naughty nurse  costume will not consist of fishnet;  instead I will wear skin tone thigh highs with a red top. Since I decided not to wear fishnets or the white thigh highs I’m going to cute off the bows and sew them on to my sleeves of my costume. I really love the red belt that’s really the reason I choose to be a naughty nurse for Halloween this year. I also picked up some lace ruffle boyshorts from Fredricks of Hollywood to complete my outfit. My makeup will resemble a 1950′s pin up girl with red lips. I just brought the new L’oreal infallible lip color in Beyonce red. The color stays on all day and all night which will be perfect for Halloween and my husband wont have lipstick on him.

As I was looking through all of the different Halloween costumes I noticed everyone is starting to capitalized on Lady Gaga Halloween costumes for 2010. Last year I saw one person who was dressed up as Lady Gaga and it was a fierce outfit( the girl made the costume her self..I was like right on girlfriend). This year you can buy your own Lady Gaga Halloween costume. One of the costumes I really fancied was the Blue Swimsuit Adult Costume that Lady Gaga wore in poker face.
